Our new Center for Middle Eastern Christianity is currently under construction at ETSC. The CMEC will be a valuable resource to students and others studying Christianity in the Middle East.

The programmatic work of the Center was inaugurated in June 2005. Since that time, the Center has hosted a number of public lectures each year, and has sponsored research prizes in Middle East Christianity among our students.

Some highlights of CMEC programming since June 2005 include the following:

1.) Public Lectures:

Dr. Julius Scott, "Up the Nile , the contribution of Christian papyri to understanding early Christianity ”

Dr. David D. Grafton, “The Arabs of Pentecost, and enquiry into the Peoples of Acts 2:11”

   Rev. Stephen Sizer, "Christian Zionism"

Dr. Gawdat Gabra, "Egyptian Christianity:  The Treasures of the Coptic Museum "

2.)  Group Visits and Programs:

American/Egyptian Pastors Colloquium, "Ministry in Different Contexts"  (Feb. 2006)
